ORDERING

Due to the intensely hand-crafted process of my fabrics, it takes approximately 4 months for an order to be received. This is from the time the order is placed, until it arrives delivered. It is best to order block-printed fabrics from the beginning of September until the beginning of May, as printing is not possible during the Monsoon (rainy) season. Orders placed during the rainy season (mid June until September) will take 3 months longer as they will have to wait until the rainy season stops so that work can begin on the order.

POSTAGE & PACKING / SHIPPING

Postage & Packing/Shipping is not included in the price of the fabric, and must be paid by the customer seperately. Postage and packing/shipping costs are calculated on a case by case basis. I strive to keep prices reasonable and do not wish to earn from these shipping costs. The buyer is responsible for all postage and packing charges which will be invoiced separately once the order is completed and ready to ship. At that time the buyer will receive a second invoice for postage & packing/shipping only.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Simon Marks-Textiles are made entirely by hand with cotton, silk & wool. Block-prints are made in India using the traditional Ajrak process. Ikats are made in Indonesia using traditional Nduk methods. Shibori/Tye-dye is made in both places using a vareity of techniques, old & new. Due to the hand-crafted nature of the products, exact repeat or pattern alignment cannot be guaranteed and slight imperfections will exist. Smudges and spots are often present and slight bleeding of color may occur as well as fading. Dye lots have major variations and will not match from order to order; therefore, customers must order initially a sufficient quantity of fabric to complete a job.

Fabric Care:
Wash with a minimal amount of natural soap or mild detergent. For Cotton & Silk do not use detergent that contains enzymes, chlorine bleach, fabric softeners, or that is formulated for wool. Do not soak, bleach, or dry clean. Hand wash preferred, or machine wash separately with cold water; use gentle cycle; line dry or delicate tumble dry. For Wool do not use detergent that contains enzymes, chlorine bleach & fabric softeners. Only handwash; line dry.

Returns: All returns must be requested in writing (send to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and be authorized by Simon Marks-Textiles. Customers sending unauthorized returns will receive no refund. Authorized returns are subject to a 25% restocking charge. All claims must be reported to Simon Marks-Textiles within two weeks of order arrival. Claims due to conditions described in "Product Description" or not following "Fabric Care" instructions will not be approved. Customer is responsible for return shipping to our facility.
